Born and raised in Detroit, at aged 16 NIKKI CORVETTE ran away from home because her parents wouldn't let her go to an MC5 concert.
And she never looked back.
She formed Nikki & the Corvettes in 1977. They were signed to the legendary Bomp Records, with their 1980 album being described as "power pop perfection" which "split the difference between the Ronettes and the Ramones".
